
- Toor dal- 1 cup
- Rice- 1.5 cup
- Onion- 1 big, sliced
- Tomato- 3, diced
- Green chili- 6, slit length wise
- Ginger-garlic paste- 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder- 1/3 tsp
- Salt- to taste, I added around a lil more than 2 tsp
- Oil or ghee- 2 tsp
- Water- 6 cups
- Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
- Spinach- 1/2 bunch
- Hing/asafoetida- a pinch
- Click on ‘saute’ mode, Add oil to the inner pot, add cumin seeds and once that sizzles add in onions and green chilies.
- Once onions are soft, add in ginger-garlic paste and mix well.
- Add in tomatoes, spinach and add turmeric powder and hing to it and mix well.
- Click on ‘off’ and add in washed rice and dal to it.
- Add in salt and water and mix well.
- Close and secure the lid and turn the valve to ‘sealing’ and click on ‘rice’ mode.
- Once done, release the pressure naturally and open and mix for one last time.
- Add a dollop of ghee and serve hot!

Trying this out. Just got the new 7-in-1 beast and wondering if the rice mode is supposed to be on “low-pressure” or “high pressure”?
That’s awesome!! You just have to click on ‘rice’ mode, don’t bother about the pressure.
