Spinach Dal Khichdi in Instant Pot

Long time, no IP recipes!! In fact not much recipes off late. The reason is I’m so so lazy these days that I hardly cook anything great but even if I do I’m lazy to take pictures! 😀 So I planned to make dal and rice yesterday but got so lazy that I dumped everything in IP and made dal khichdi. 😛 And it turned out so good especially on a cold winter night, this is such a heavenly comfort food! I usually make khichdi/dal with moong dal but I ran out of it and made with toor dal and loved it. If you don’t have a Instant pot, make the same thing in pressure cooker or rice cooker. Alright, here’s how I make it. Check out other Instant Pot recipes here. Read More …

Therattipal in Instant Pot

Growing up, we always used to buy therattipaal/palgova since it’s very labor-intensive to make at home. Now that I have my magic wand, I whip up foodgasmic therattipaal in my Instant pot in just SIX minutes!! I got this recipe from my friend and tried it immediately and have been hooked to it since then. We love how easy and delicious it is and all we need is just 3 ingredients! You can also make this in microwave but I choose IP over microwave any day. Check out my other Instant Pot recipes here. palgova_recipe_instantpot Read More …

Beetroot Hummus

I’m that annoying kid who is a picky eater and hates vegetables. But since the time I started cooking, I’ve figured a way to eat my veggies. I either mash them and make cutlets, puree them into a smoothie or grind them to a hummus where you can’t really taste the veggies but all the goodness are getting in. So yeah, I’m proud of myself. 😀 I have made roasted beetroot hummus and roasted red pepper hummus, this time I just microwaved beets for couple of minutes and pureed it along with the rest of the ingredients. Absolutely loved the taste and look at that color!! Here’s how I make it. beetroot_hummus Read More …

It’s worth the effort guys and homemade burgers are the best! Try it! image1-45 Read More …

Cold evenings are upon us and I love me some steaming hot sundal. Sundal is nothing but you make some tadka and add it to you steamed lentils. As we know lentils are very healthy and I love them, I’m hoping to have more sundal throughout the winter. If I could eat this everyday I would but then who can endure fart fest everyday? xD This is a southindian snack and many of you may not be aware of it so here’s how I make it.  channa_sundal Read More …
