Purpose in life

What’s my purpose in life? I never thought about it until I lost my dad and felt like there’s no reason for me to live anymore. But something told me there’s a reason that I’m still alive, there’s a purpose, that lead me contemplating what my purpose is. Now I know what my purpose is, it is to make a difference in this world. May be I can’t be half as great as Mother Theresa or Dalai Lama or Abdul Kalam but I’ll contribute in my own way. My purpose is to build someone up, spread happiness, smile more and to be kind. I asked the same question to Hari and my bestfriend. My best friend’s purpose is similar to mine (duh!) and this is what Hari said.. Read More …

Life Lessons From Dalai Lama

Whenever I made a mistake or was hurt, I would go to my dad and he used to give me the best advice. Past one year has been tough since the person who always guided me is no more. What do I do now? Where would I go? Who do I ask? I would just google my problems and I was always directed to His Highness Dalai Lama’s quotes. I’m very fond of HH Dalai Lama and their quotes. Here are few of my favorite quotes. Read More …

Do you have pets at home?

I din’t set up my tree or make any goodies for Christmas, so I couldn’t share anything with my friends/neighbors this year. But when my neighbor friend dropped by last week and gave us loads of yummy goodies despite her son being not well, I felt so touched. As soon as she left, Hari and I worried about their son and we knew we gotta make something to cheer them up. I made some Indian sweets and savories and Hari and I literally hopped to their place yesterday. The son who wasn’t well attended the door and asked us to get in. I kind of hesitated but we had to go talk to him and his parents about how he was doing. Read More …

Farewell to 2016

I know I’m doing it a lil late but I still don’t know if I can complete/publish this post. Here’s me saying goodbye to 2016. 2016 is that evil monstrous teacher who won’t be getting any flowers/cards from me. I’m so so glad that it’s gone. Except I feel a lil guilty now that I din’t say one nice thing about 2016 at all. Because there’s not even one nice thing! Read More …

Best Compliment Ever!

Who doesn’t like to hear compliments? I can see my husband raising his hands and legs, but that’s just him! :/ I love compliments, both giving and receiving. There’s something so nice about it, it instantly makes the giver and the receiver happy. As much as I like receiving compliments, I act all gawky sometimes and here’s a post about how I act clumsy. But, tell me, what’s the best compliment you have received? I would love to hear, aw c’mon don’t be shy, I would love to hear all about it. I’m gonna shamelessly share some of my favorite compliments. But before that, when was the last time you gave someone a compliment? I usually shy away from giving someone the compliment that they deserve to know. But not anymore, I’m very vocal these days and I love spreading happiness wherever I go. So go ahead and give compliments to people you meet in restaurants, train, work place, spa etc. Read More …

Shelfie

Remember the shelf that I mentioned in my anniversary post ?Here’s the quick story whether you want to know or not, but I can’t skip this part. 😛 This shelf might not seem that great but it is special to me and you will know why in a bit. 🙂 I was hunting for a good industrial book case since few months. Either they were not really great or  din’t fit into my budget and I just couldn’t narrow down to one. Scouting million stores(virtually) later, I found this shelf and even the price was reasonable, so I added it to the cart only to realize it’s out of stock. 😮 Dang! I was so annoyed and pissed that I stopped looking for bookshelves for good. I felt a little bad initially and lost interest eventually. But apparently Hari kept looking at their website every day first thing in the morning and one fine day he noticed that there was one last piece that was in stock!! He ordered it immediately and and wanted to surprise me with it but I was so burned out that day that he had to tell me about the bookcase to cheer me up. The conversation went like this.. Schedule a me-time

Past two days has been so rough (screw you hormones), but I’m done sulking not because I’m fine but I WANT to be fine. So I’m gonna schedule a ‘me-time’ with me (duh) today – I’m gonna play some good music, do my mani/pedi, read a book, watch this week’s carpool karaoke featuring Bruno Mars and drink lots of water! I’m sure I’m gonna have a great week ahead, a lil bit of ‘me-time’ is all I need perhaps. Have you ever noticed that if you are happy, everything around looks happy and triggers happiness in others around you? So I want you to schedule your ‘me-time’ too however busy you are. Read More …

How are you?

This is the most dreaded question of 2016 for me. In fact until Oct of 2015, if anyone asked me, “How are you?” my response would be “Oh I’m doing great!:D” I have always replied like this to every ‘how-are-you’ question ever since I’ve started talking I think. My response might seem like my life was a breeze and I was high on weeds life. I can surely say that 50% of it is true. My life was not a breeze but I was always high on life. I have been bullied for scoring good marks, I have flunked more than once and many such horrible horrible things have happened but it just din’t seem to bother me much thankfully. Read More …
