Quiet Book

Ever since I got pregnant, I wanted to do something for the baby. Like some people knit scarf/mittens, some people sew dresses. But I can’t do either of them so I settled for making headbands and something that is related to book. I wanted to create a story book but I can’t sketch to save the life of me. Great, now I feel like I’m not good at anything!! I came across this idea of quiet book and thought this looks cool so why not! You can find them easily on Amazon or any bookstore but the creative satisfaction that I get when I was making it or when I read this book to Sam is nothing compared to reading the mainstream books. I’m sure she will treasure it in future and I’m hoping it stays in one piece for her to treasure . Here’s how it looks, let me know how you like it!! ūüôā

DIY Headband

Ever since the gender reveal balloon burst out the ‘pink’ confetti, I have been a little cray cray about dressing up my baby girl. I kind of did a happy dance at a baby store and freaked the heck out of people there. Those tulle skirts, bloomers, headbands, moccasins… I know, right? That’s how giddy happy I feel too. I think I’m obsessed about baby headbands and I’m sure I’m not alone in this. At least my brother and FIL adore them on her as much as I do. As a crazy mom who’s *this* close to bankruptcy, went on Pinterest and browsed for ‘DIY Headbands’ and found this easy-peasy tutorial. Tutorial? LOL. Alright. This is how I made these cute headbands.

DIY Cinderblock Planter

I came across this idea on Pinterest even before we moved to our own home. I knew for sure one day I would execute this project. It’s been a lil over an year since we moved to our own house and I finally got this done in June. And I love how my version turned out! Guests¬†who visited us adore it and it’s a great conversation starter. Apart from how cool that looks and how easy it is to make it’s also very inexpensive. I have been contemplating on whether or not to paint it hence the delay for this post . I would like to keep it this way for now and here’s how we made it. You can create your own design or just copy this. cinderblock_planter Read More …

DIY Wall Art with Paint Swatches

My hubby & I used to make frequent trips to home improvement/ hardware stores during our house hunting period. While he’s busy checking out boring stuff, I aimlessly wander to figure where the garden center is, or their paint aisle is. There’s something about paint aisle that makes me happy.. I picked this habit of dreaming about the house in the color of paint I (my hormones) chose that day. I even picked those swatches and put them in my diary with a caption.Yes, I’m a paint chips hoarder.

I had piled up so many of them that it was time to let go of some when we moved out of our apartment. Instead of trashing them, I unleashed my inner artist and ended up with this masterpiece.

¬†Pretty, isn’t it? You better say Yes.

DIY Fall Leaves Art

What is your favorite season of the year? For me it’s Fall. There’s something about Fall which makes me happy.

We have this huge¬†maple tree in our backyard which turned orangish-red. It was heartbreaking for me to rake those beautiful leaves and trash them. Did you know people actually sell these leaves and charge you a bomb?Look at this. Dang, if only I had known this before.. Anyhoo,¬†since it’s our first Fall in our new home, I wanted to preserve¬†some leaves as a keepsake. I pressed the leaves by keeping it in between the book and then glued it to a canvas. That would make ¬†a wonderful wall art and adds that Fall flair to your home.
